From Darkness to Self
Once a seed is placed in the ground, covered with dirt, it is cloaked in darkness. As the sun warms and the rain nourishes the soil, a seed mysteriously germinates, unknown to our sensibilities. All the potentialities of that plant begin to unfold under the dirt, in the safety of darkness.
A child is conceived and develops in the darkness of the womb. Again, within that austere environment, the budding of life takes form; without initial outside awareness of the self that is growing within.
In the obscurity of the universe, galaxies collide, propelling the energy necessary to create stars and additional galaxies into the shadows of the cosmos. New being is created within that dark chaos.
In the same way, it is within the darkness of our humanity that the seeds of life germinate, breaking through the soil of grief, confusion, frustration, or anger. Blinded by obscurity, we do not see the being that is sprouting beneath the dirt. Our life force cannot be contained by the darkness. We sprout, we grow and blossom into the radiant self the seed had held.
